The Sportsman was recently forced to up stumps and look for a new location after the death knell was finally sounded for all establishments in the Washington Square area of Bangkok. Demolition continues apace there, and little of recognition is left standing. But new premises have now been secured in Sukhumvit Soi 13, and the bar is open for business as usual.
Manager Paul Hatch declared: “We have the same concept as before, which is to provide a quality sports bar with reasonable prices. There are six Brunswick pool tables, two dartboards in their own area, a golf machine, seven TVs and there will be three big screen projectors. We will also have a kitchen with a very similar menu to before.”
The bar is located about 150 metres into Soi 13 from Sukhumvit Road, on the right hand side, just after the main Trendy Condo building entrance. They even have the same sign above the door as before, so previous devotees can find them with ease.
