The Art of Muay Thai

28.11.2011

La  Lanta Fine Art Gallery in Sukhumvit 31, Bangkok,  is currently hosting an exhibition entitled “Complete”, by Songrit Dokbua, a newly discovered Thai artist.  The exhibition is part of the art gallery’s Young Programme.

Songrit, pictured, attended the opening of “Complete” on Saturday November 26th.  "To me, Thai boxing is a sport of completion," said Songrit. "Over centuries, the skills and wisdom are developed and handed down from one generation to the next.  It is the art that preserves that Thai culture at its strength and this inspires me.  I am impressed by elements that constitute this.  Thai martial arts, traditional music, wisdom of movements, respect to one's body and mind, adherence to a senior's preachings and belief in morals and discipline.  The idea moves me and I felt charged with free spirit when working on these drawings."
