Windsor Plus Card Launched at Windsor Suites Hotel, Bangkok

The newly renovated Executive Lounge, on the 32nd floor of the Windsor Suites Hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 20, hosted the opening party for the hotel’s new Windsor Plus Membership Card on Saturday August 25th.

Providing access to the large hotel’s numerous facilities, the card carries a value of 12,000 baht, but can be acquired for just 5,900 baht net.

Holders are given a year to spend their credits on accommodation, restaurants, and all the facilities of The Windsor Suites Hotel.

Celebrities and leading local singing stars were in attendance to provide a touch of glamour to the musical evening.

Gourmands Geared Up for World Gourmet Festival at Four Seasons Bangkok

Eight of the top chefs in the world are on their way to Thailand to participate in the World Gourmet Festival at the Four Seasons Bangkok.

The event is billed as “Eight Chefs, Seven Days, Six Countries, One Hotel”, will take place between September 3rd and 9th, and will also feature Master of Wine Jeannie Cho Lee, Eleveur de Fromage Jean-François Antony, and mixologist and ambassador for Dilmah Tea, Robert Schinkel.

Master Chef Nooror Somany Steppe gives the new menu her seal of approval

 

When the Blue Elephant Restaurant launched a new fine dining menu recently, it seemed fitting that among the first to sample the dishes were Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her fellow Members of Parliament, at a special reception in honour of the visiting President of Myanmar, U Thein Sein.


The menu is now available to members of the public, with the Art of Thai Cuisine Food Festival running until September 30th at the iconic South Sathorn building.

Frescobaldi Area Manager Asia Pacific Erika Ribaldi celebrates the occasion

 

Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel hosted a special food and wine pairing evening on August 22nd 2012, at La Tavola and Wine Bar Italian Restaurant, to celebrate 700 years of great wines from Tuscany, the famous wine producing region of Italy.  A range of Frescobaldi wines were selected by the company's Area Manager Asia Pacific, Erika Ribaldi:
Appetiser: Danzante Pinot Grigio.
First Course:  Pomino Bianco Chardonnay VS Albizzia 2011 Chardonnay.
Secondo Course:  Chianti Nipozzano VS Chianti Castilgioni.
Dessert:  Vin Santo.
The four course meal was specially designed by Chef Fabio, whose Italian home is within cycling range of the Tuscan hills.

Party House One Launches New Look at Siam@Siam Design Hotel in Bangkok

Amidst great fanfare Party House One officially re-opened on Tuesday August 21st with music, dancing, juggling, cocktail mixing demonstrations and tee shirt painting.  The greatly improved 10,000 square metre property now has a new concept and a new menu to go with the new look.

The trendy new design features an acrylic white bar in the centre of the room, where colourful cocktails are mixed.  This centrepiece is surrounded by seating, cooking stations, a stage and a dance floor, while a snug New York style loft with comfy seating can be found on the upper level.

Aiming to be Bangkok’s next “event house”, Party House One Bar and Restaurant has been re-launched under the concept of “Music, Art, Cuisine”.  To boost this aim, the establishment will feature nightly live music in various forms: Swing, Blues, Electro Jazz and Lounge Music being the mainstays.

Celebrity Party at Twenty Five Degrees, Pullman Bangkok Hotel G

It may have been raining all over Bangkok on Thursday August 16th, but the stars were out in Silom Road, attending the official celebrity night launch of Twenty Five Degrees Restaurant, at the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G.


The music was provided by internationally recognised jazz supremo Koh Mr. Saxman, and mini burgers and hot dogs were the order of the night.


Open 24 hours a day, Twenty Five Degrees Wine and Liquor Bar is the hotel's upmarket "Bordello Meets Burger" joint.  The restaurant is the sister outlet of the original concept which resides at the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Lovers of good food and wine have been cottoning on to the regular monthly wine tasting evenings at The Reflexions.  Located at Plaza Athenee Bangkok, a Royal Meridien Hotel, in Wireless Road, The Reflexions provides a carefully selected French menu to accompany each range of wines that is specially chosen for each occasion.  August's affair was titled Wine and Dine Chile, and featured six Genesis wines from the De Aguirre family, widely regarded as producers of some of the best wines in Chile's Maule Valley.

Bamboo Bar Bangkok Welcomes Famous Japanese Female Bartender Yukiyo Kurihara

The legendary Bamboo Bar at Bangkok’s Mandarin Oriental is currently playing host to the talented bartender Yukiyo Kurihara from Japan from 4pm until midnight until Saturday 18th August 2012.


Kurihara is a Chief Bartender of Mandarin Bar, Mandarin Oriental Tokyo. Her passion for mixology emerged during her college years. It is the potential for expressing herself in artistic ways that proved the initial attraction.  From then on she has gradually gained recognition throughout her bartending career.

 

Kurihara’s elegant style when creating her cocktalsl has won her an Honourable Mention at the Suntory Cocktail Competition in 1998. In 2000 Kurihara received Best Cocktail Award under the Prefect Tanqueray category at HBA (Hotel’s Barmen Association) and Jardine Wines Spirit Cocktail Competition with her signature concoction, Glorious Martini.
