Grande Centre Point Hotel and Residence Celebrates First Year Anniversary



Grande Centre Point Hotel and Residence held The First Anniversary Prosperous Growth Party on their open air garden deck on the facilities floor on November 1st 2012.  The hotel opened in conjunction with Terminal 21 Shopping Mall at the junction of Sukhumvit and Asoke Roads in October 2011. Highlights included a mini concert by the Sinjaroen Brothers, traditional Thai performances, booth activities and a lucky draw.

Vampire v Slayer Halloween Party at Le Bar de l'Hotel at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit




Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit held a Vampire v Slayer Halloween Party to celebrate the opening of Le Bar de l'Hotel on the lobby level.  Guests were encouraged to dress as either vampires or vampire slayers with prizes on offer for the best efforts.  A special scary make-up station was on hand to give the final touches to the macabre visages. 

Dancing into the night of ghouls and spirits was aided by live performances by the Neung Jakkawal Band, seductive salsa from the Siam Cubano Band and Rhythm and Blues from Chai Blues and his band, while a DJ spun a haunting halloween hit list.

A Guinness World Record at Plaza Athenee Bangkok, A Royal Meridien Hotel




On Sunday 28 October 2012 Ms Keyoon Choklumlert and Mr Kriangkrai Kittitanasuan celebrated their wedding by breaking the Guinness World Record for the ‘Most Bridesmaids to One Bride’. Their wedding had a total of 96 bridesmaids which broke the record and they also had 50 groomsmen. Judges of the Guinness World Records association flew from England to award the couple their record at Athénée Crystal Hall, Plaza Athénée Bangkok, A Royal Méridien Hotel.

Chef Benjawan’s Cooking Class at St. Regis Bangkok



Michelin Star Chef Giancarlo Perbellini with Chef Benjawan


When the 2 star Michelin chef Giancarlo Perbellini came to Bangkok for five days to cook with his team at VIU Restaurant of St. Regis Bangkok, recently, executive chef Leonardo Concezzi asked Benjawan Wisootsat if she could undertake a Thai cooking class for chef Giancarlo and his team.  She agreed with pleasure, as she is not only a successful event manager and Boutique wine distributer, she is also a passionate chef.

In the morning Benjawan brought both chefs, Giancarlo and Leonardo, to the fresh market where they bought together the ingredients for the afternoon cooking class.

Benjawan’s Thai cooking class was not only attended by Giancarlo and Leonardo but also by Giancarlo’s team which he brought with him from Verona and by chef Carlo from ‘jojo restaurant’ of St. Regis

Giancarlo has even invited Benjawan to visit him in Verona at his famous Restaurant and to cook with him in Spring 2013.

All Aboard the Night Train - LUSH is Full Steam Ahead for a November Arrival

Bangkok partygoers are lining up for what promises to be one of the major nightlife events of 2012: LUSH.  The famous inner-city music festival with a social purpose is back for another edition on November 9th, and organisers predict it will be the biggest so far.

A highly original venue has been secured for the event: the Train Night Market, in Chatuchak, which will be hosting its first ever event.  This will be the fourth year of LUSH, with more than a million baht having been raised for charity, and with over 10,000 guests being welcomed in the previous three years.

Monthly Wine Dinners Prove Popular at Napa on 26 in Bangkok

Lovers of good food and wine in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok have been appreciative of the monthly wine dinners at Napa on 26 for some time now.  Each event is planned around four gourmet courses and four matching wines from different regions of the world, and is almost always sold out in advance.  The restaurant is currently rated as the number one restaurant in Bangkok on Trip Advisor, and has been in the top three for the last 18 months.

A recent wine dinner featured four wines from Twomey imported by The California Wine Company: Twomey Sauvignon Blanc 2008, Twomey Pinot Noir 2006, Twomey Merlot 2005 and Dakota Shy 2008.

Piedmont Wine Dinner at Biscotti, Four Seasons Hotel, Bangkok




Chef Daniele Cason and his team served up a Piedmont Wine Dinner at Biscotti Italian Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel in Bangkok on October 18th.

Six famous wines from Piedmont were paired with specially created dishes such as Piedmont Veal Tartar, Slow Cooked Egg, Tonnata Sauce (paired with Gavi Sparina 2010), Sunchoke Risotto, Porcini Mushroom, Roasted Scallop (paired with Barbera d’Alba Dina Negro 2009), and Braised Short Rib, White Polenta, Chestnut and Barolo Sauce (paired with Barolo Dagromis Gaja 2007).

Although the wine dinner was for one night only, delectable dishes from the Piedmont menu will be available until October 27th, 2012.
