Miss World’s Lunch Beside the Chao Phraya at Riva Surya in Bangkok

Miss World Wenxia Yu spent a leisurely riverside lunchtime at the Riva Surya Hotel during her visit to Thailand recently. 

The reigning beauty queen was joined by Miss Thailand World 2010 Sirirat Ruengsri (in blue) and Miss World Chief Executive Julia Morley.

The visit was organized as part of the official launch of Thailand’s National Pageant for Miss World 2013.

Guest Chef Jeremy Biasiol at L’Appart in Bangkok

Guest Chef Jeremy Biasiol, executive director and executive chef at Mirror Restaurant in Wan Chai Road, Hong Kong, cooked up a special five course menu at L’Appart at Sofitel Sukhumvit.

The French chef showcased authentic French favourites for four days at the roof top bar and restaurant which sits on the hotel’s 32nd floor.

Sky High Celebrity Party at the Launch of Continent Bangkok

Held over four levels, the party was based upon the themes used within the hotel – Ocean, Desert, Space and Forest – to transform fine Italian restaurant Medinii, H2O Pool Bar and double-level lounge, Axis & Spin, into a tantalizing party centre.

An exotic professional belly dancer “Hadassa” was joined by an elegant female James Bond, a gold-laden female Poseidon, an otherwordly mermaid and an alluring Poison Ivy.  All five gave interactive performances throughout the various levels of the hotel.

The Dubliner: A Slice of Dublin Town in Bangkok

When The Dubliner was forced to close its doors recently due to redevelopment of the entire Washington Square region of Bangkok, plans were quickly set in motion to find another similar sized property in a nearby area. Patrons now only have to cross the street to Sukhumvit 33/1. The new Dubliner opened its doors very recently after a full renovation of the new property. Most of the artefacts customers knew and loved from the previous enterprise have been brought over, along with furniture, books and photos.

Mobile Expo 2013 in Bangkok

There were gadgets galore on show at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre during the Thailand Mobile Expo 2013.

Tablets and smart phones that are geared up to meet the demands of social networks and the upcoming commercial 3G wireless broadband service were of significant interest. 

Smart phones with new larger screens of up to five inches are all set to come in and replace current models that have screens in the three to four inch size range.

High end mobiles will now come with cameras offering 13 megapixel photo storage.

Propaganda by Genesis Hosts TV Show in Bangkok

Freelance makeup artist Natalie Lorence (above) hails from Moscow, but is currently based in Bangkok.  Natalie worked at L’Oreal for several years before branching out on her own; she has also added modelling and acting to her repertoire recently, appearing in various magazines and acting in numerous TV commercials and films.  Her most recent role was as stunt double for Naomi Watts in the movie “The Impossible”.
