MyBar is Your Bar

City centre revellers have recently been discovering evenings of note right alongside one of Bangkok’s major transport hubs.  MyBar at the Dusit Thani Hotel has been pumping to the sounds of resident DJs Jay and M on regular themed nights such as the Friday Ladies Night, the Tickled Pink Glam Party and the Saturday Boogie Flashback Eighties Disco Night.

The bar provides a more relaxed environment earlier in the week, when guests can avail themselves of an extensive menu that features items such as Fish and Chips, Spaghetti, Caesar Salad, Sushi Timbales, Tortilla Wraps, Cajun Potato Skins, Assorted Samoussas, Masbahah Hummus and Labaneh. 

Perhaps the two most popular choices, however, are the Thai Sampler (Chicken Satay, Deep Fried Prawn Cakes, Green Curry Cocktail with Chicken, Glass Noodle Spring Roll with Prawn) and the Seafood Sampler (Smoked and Dill Cured Salmon, Fresh French Oysters, River Lobsters, Dill Sauce, Cream Cheese Toast and Garnishes).  A range of sandwiches are also available, along with a choice of sumptuous sweets.

A very extensive wine list features labels from all around the world and includes numerous choices from France, Italy, Chile, Austria, Germany, Australia, USA, South Africa, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, New Zealand and Greece.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

An enticing cocktail list features well known favourites alongside MyBar specialities such as the Dusit Royale, with crushed peaches and strawberries, and the Tip of the Tongue, with gin, passion fruit juice and melon liqueur.  The Dusit Special features bourbon, triple sec, blue curacao, lime juice and sprite, while the Savoy @ Dusit is made with vodka, melon liqueur, peach schnapps and fresh lime juice.  

The signature cocktail, however, was created by one of Thailand’s best bartenders, Surasak Puntaisong.  His creation, the Siam Sunray, consists of Smirnoff vodka, Malibu, coconut syrup, lime juice, lemongrass, lime leaves, galingale, red chilli and soda water.

 

 

 

Party hosting has proved to be no problem, with events such as the British Chamber of Commerce’s Third Thursday Networking Evening among recent successful bookings.  Exotic delights are also to be found here, with MyBar the preferred choice for a regular belly dancing night until recently.
