Kaimook, Miss Thailand Universe 2009, is a Bangkok Beauty with Brains
When Chutima Chantelle Durongdej was growing up in Bangkok she was considered overweight, but her formative years brought out the determined streak which has typified her rise to national fame. The 26 year old has now matured into a tall, elegant beauty with a brain for business.
Her determination, while still at school, saw her hone her looks to overcome her lack of self esteem, going on to win the prestigious Miss Thailand Universe crown at the first attempt in 2009. Her reward was a trip to Nassau, in The Bahamas, to represent her country in the Miss Universe pageant.
Nicknamed Kaimook, which translates into Pearl, the beauty queen enchanted internet judges throughout the world who named her Miss Photogenic via an online poll. She was also praised for her national costume, which won the second runner up award.

Kaimook still shows that drive to better herself. Already benefitting from a Master's Degree in Business Management, and working as product manager for a well known cosmetic company, she is now planning to undertake further learning by studying for a PhD. Her application has already been accepted and she begins her course in June 2012.
The five foot nine inch model and TV presenter studied in the South West of England, gaining her education at Millfield School and King's College Taunton. She then went on to gain a Bachelor of Food, Science and Nutrition at Nottingham University.
It was during her time in the UK that Kaimook developed her taste for beauty contests, entering such competitions as Miss London and Miss Wimbledon, where she placed highly in each. She was also placed in the top 20 in "Britain's Next Top Model".
