The lush expanse of greenery and waterways that is the signature of Swissôtel Nai Lert Park Bangkok has welcomed some eye-catching new visitors, as the hotel premieres the ‘Hippop Art Expop’ by Artheline World Premiere.
Over 40 unique “couleur de la Vie” (colour of life) hippo sculptures, decorated in a kaleidoscope of bright colours, will be arrayed throughout the park, offering vivid contrasts and subtly complementing the dense foliage of trees and plants and in effect creating a pop art jungle.
“Artheline” is the signature of celebrated French artist couple Arnaud and Adeline Nazare-Aga.
Brought up on opposite sides of the world, their specialty is sculptures of hefty hippos tricked out in an amazing mélange of colours.
Inspired by voluptuous forms and gentle roundness, the sculptures radiate a sense of wholesomeness and innocence that makes them much in demand among international collectors.
The couple declares their mission as simply to bring joy to the public and to contribute to the universal search for happiness with bright, shapely sculptures that everyone can relate to.
Visitors can catch the Hippop Art Expop October 31, 2014 until Tuesday 6th January 2015.
