Couture Fashion Week Opens in Bangkok with a Lie Sang Bong Fashion Show
The four day Couture Fashion Week 2012 began in dramatic style on September 27th with an indoor thunder and lightning show. Leading South Korean designer Lie Sang Bong started the festival with a show that incorporated much of what Bangkokians have seen and heard on the streets for the last few weeks, rumbling thunder and dramatic lightning flashes (see movie).
Lie Sang Bong is regarded by many as the "Korean Alexander McQueen" due to his outstanding style and vision. He is one of seven top Asian fashion gurus participating at the Royal Paragon Hall.
Other shows will feature Theatre, Yumi Katsura, Nagara by Citibank, Frederick Lee, Flynow and Christophe Josse. But perhaps the most eagerly anticipated show is "The Queen of Thai Silk", a royal reception in which international designers will celebrate Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's 80th Anniversary by presenting their own silk designs.
