A Week of Spanish Chemistry at Parkview


Renowned chef Jacobo Astray will be creating his own unique range of culinary concepts at Parkview Restaurant when the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel is host to “A Week of Spanish Chemistry” between January 23rd and 28th 2012.

Jacobo is senior chef at El Bulli Restaurant, which has been at the forefront of culinary imagination since the 1990’s.  Regarded by many as the creator of molecular gastronomy, the Spanish restaurant prides itself on providing provocative creations by modifying the characteristics of the ingredients of each dish.

The results are a range of truly exclusive dishes such as Mojito Sugar Cane, Spheric Olives, Almond Soup, Gaspacho Soup with Canadian Lobster, Gorgonzola Balloons, Parmesan-Ovulato Spring Roll, Salted Cod Fish Salad, Parmesan Ice Cream, Leek Foam, Spanish Omelette Re-constructed, Oyster Tartar with Duck Liver, Vacuum Slow Cooked Salmon with Almond Sauce and Passion Fruit with Chicken Foam.

El Bulli has frequently been voted as the best restaurant on the planet, and Bangkok connoisseurs now have the chance to sample some of the world’s most creative food in a relaxed environment, without travelling to Spain.

Chef Astray states “At El Bulli we create all year long, constantly improving techniques and concepts.  We always taste the creations, things that in classical recipe principles should not work, but finally work very well.  We don’t give up until we have the perfect combination of flavour, technique and individuality.”

The El Bulli experience will be combined with Parkview’s nightly gourmet buffet, featuring Rock Lobster, Foie Gras, Alaskan King Crab, a sumptuous roast carvery, an extensive grill selection and a tasty range of desserts.
